Dr. Colleen Gnyp grew up in Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan and still cheers for the Roughriders. She graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2001. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
She opened Vivid Eye Care (formerly Cranston Market Optometry) in 2010 to provide quality eye care to the communities of South East Calgary. Dr. Gnyp believes in the importance of lifelong eye health exams for people of all ages, from infants to senior adults, and is committed to providing comprehensive eye care in a welcoming environment.
Dr. Gnyp works with each patient to provide personalized eye care and eyewear recommendations that can improve their quality of life. She has a special interest in refractive eye surgery and has worked at both LASIK-MD and Gimbel Eye Centre.
Dr. Colleen Gnyp believes in giving back and volunteers as a scout leader, a community board member, and an outreach optometrist and educator both in Calgary and internationally. She is enthusiastic about outdoor activities, including hiking, skiing, and fishing, and loves to trade travel stories. She and her husband Malcolm have 2 young children, Matthew and Sarah, who keep them busy with youth soccer, dance, and hockey.
